From America, to the UK now, I started this site almost a year ago to blog about my thoughts on the lovely world of the sport I call “soccer.” This is to give the rarely-heard-from perspective of an American college student, getting my Master’s this year in the UK. I’m going to provide insight on what it’s like trying to follow not only my favorite teams, but what it’s like traveling to all of these different stadiums and getting to see a whole new side of the world.
When it comes to my own personal likings, it will become eminent who I support but to put it in writing I support Aston Villa till I die, D.C. United as my home team, and obviously the US Men’s National team (for what it’s worth). I think Ronaldo is the best player on the planet but that’s only because Messi is outta this world (thanks Queiroz). Barca>Real
I’m the kind of guy that wakes up every Saturday morning at 7am in the US to watch the Premier League game that’s on first and then on the couch watching until the games are over for the day. I’m the kind of guy to wake up at 3am during the school semester to watch the US youth national team play in the World Cup in Korea. I’m the kind of guy to support Villa so hard and not stop that even when we’re relegated it got to the point where I had to watch Facebook live streams of games from fans in the stands. That’s me. That’s Jake Fenicle.
Some of the things I say will be NSFW, that’s a fair warning, but if it were a movie, I don’t think it would quite be rated “R.” Somewhere PG-13 and R, but that’s just because of the way I talk, and I want my writing to be just that.
Any questions/comments/concerns please feel free to comment or follow my twitter(s) @SSOMBlog1 or @jakefenicle and PLEASE share so that my thoughts can reach as wide of an audience as possible!
